From Conceptualization to Implementation: FAIR Assessment of Research Data Objects

Funders and policy makers have strongly recommended the uptake of FAIR principles in scientific data management. Several initiatives are working on implementation standardized applications to systematically evaluate FAIRness. This paper presents practical solutions, namely metrics tools, developed by FAIRsFAIR project pilot assessment research objects trustworthy repositories. The mainly built indicators RDA Data Maturity Model Working Group. tools’ design evaluation followed an iterative process. We present two metrics: awareness-raising self-assessment tool automated tool. Initial results testing tools with researchers repositories discussed, future improvements suggested including next steps enable broader ecosystem.
